An exciting opportunity has arisen at Northampton General Hospital within the Clinical Governance Team. We are looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and industrious Clinical professional as our Clinical Incident Manager. This role is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, motivated and driven individual to support the Trust in continuing to ensure staff are able to deliver the Trusts vision of “the best possible care” to our patients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Clinical Incident Investigation process in the Trust. Working collaboratively and proactively with the Investigation Teams and Divisional staff to ensure thorough robust and proportionate investigations are conducted in accordance with Trust, National and Commissioners policies/ frameworks and good practice. Following this, that opportunities for learning are maximised and shared across the Trust and wider health economy.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all internal reporting requirements and timescales are adhered to for the management of reported incidents through the DATIX system, including Serious Incident Investigations and that the Duty of Candour requirements.
The successful candidate will need to be a confident individual and have considerable experience using Datix. The post holder will be required to develop and deliver training, to ensure that across the Trust the appropriate staff have the knowledge to investigate patient safety incidents right from the initial investigation through to completing a root cause analysis.
Therefore a clinical qualification and previous experience of developing and delivering Root Cause Analysis training is essential for the successful candidate to be able to deliver this exciting and challenging post.
