Band 7 Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist or Band 6 Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist training post.

We are a well established Palliative Care Team seeking to recruit a new Band 7 Palliative Clinical Nurse Specialist or a Band 6 Palliative Clinical Nurse Specialist in-training. We are a busy and expanding service, with a passion for improving palliative and end-of-life care. This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 or experienced Band 6 nurse in palliative care who is energetic and flexible in their approach to their work. You will preferably have experience working with palliative care patients in a hospital, hospice or community setting. Important criteria for the role also include the ability to work autonomously and within a team, managing conflicting priorities and excellent communication skills. As a member of our team you will be expected to review and assess patients, and offer advice for their often very complex physical, psychological and social needs.
From the start you will be supported through a personal development programme that includes mentorship, an on-going CNS education programme and support from our multi-disciplinary colleagues. In addition, all our CNSs have the option of participating in monthly one to one clinical supervision. You will also have the opportunity to work within a variety of specialities as our team covers the Charing Cross, St. Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospital sites. We support professional development and offer the possibility to actively work on audit projects. If you have a keen interest in palliative and end-of-life care, good symptom control knowledge and are interested in working with our respected and innovative team we would love to hear from you to talk about joining us. Please use your statement to show how you are meeting the requirements of our job description.
The successful candidate will carry a caseload of patients with complex needs and will contribute to the Trust’s education programme as well as the on-going development of our Palliative Care Service within the trust. They will also benefit from being a Macmillan sponsored professional.
We would consider a part-time or job-share position if the opportunity arose from a successful interview.
Closing Date: February 18th 2018
Interviews to be held: in the week of February 26th
