My client is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant for a 5 month Fixed Term Contract starting ASAP to the end of June 2018

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will primarily be responsible for the accounts payable function, with duties including posting of invoices, processing of supplier payments, and maintaining the cashbooks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Purchase Ledger

* Matching invoices to delivery notes and purchase orders
* Ensuring all invoices are authorised by the relevant person where there is no PO
* Coding and processing supplier invoices
* Reconciling supplier statements
* Taking ownership of and resolving any queries, ensuring the ledger is clean, tidy and reconciled at all times
* Processing weekly and monthly supplier payment runs
* Dealing with ad-hoc supplier queries

2.Cashbook

* Posting of cashbook receipts and payments
* Preparation of bank reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis Maintenance and reconciliation of the petty cash accounts.

3.Expenses

* Processing employee expense claims
* Reconciliation of the company credit card accounts

4.Other Duties

* Answering incoming telephone queries
* Updating the annualised hours spreadsheets for the relevant departments
* Ensuring that all paperwork is filed away, leaving desks clean and tidy at all times

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

Previous recent accounts experience within a busy department

Good IT skills including Excel

DESIRABLE

Previous experience of using Sage 200 is desirable but not essential
