Our client develops a range of new homes – for rent, shared ownership, and sale – and provides housing management, care and support, and commercial property services.

They are currently seeking a Service Charge Officer in Chippenham or Oxford.

In this key role, you will provide a high quality, cost effective service to the Group’s leaseholders and service charge customers. Ensuring the Group’s best interests are protected when liaising with managing agents and other external bodies you will also provide specialist advice and support around service charges to colleagues within the Group.

Working with their finance team and colleagues across the business, you will be part of the calculation, setting and monitoring of service charge budgets for schemes and play a key part in the group’s annual rent review process. You will be accountable for maximising service charge income across all tenures, whilst offering customers value for money on services. Further to this you will work with development and their estates in the setting of service charges for new schemes.

The successful candidate must have a good general or technical education beyond GCSE e.g. 2 or more A Levels/NVQ 3 or vocabulary, verbal reasoning and numerical skills to the equivalent ability level. Good working knowledge of relevant service charge legislation; to include Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 is essential along with the ability to interpret residential and commercial leases, management and service level agreements. In addition, excellent administration and organisation skills, with an ability to manage own workload are required.

Due to the nature of the role a full, clean driving licence and the flexibility to attend evening meetings and occasional weekend working may be necessary
