* Some experience working in an accounting role preferably in a business finance environment.
* Confident with double entry book keeping and fundamental accounting principles.

* Oracle preferable.

Role Profile:
* Reporting to the Finance Business Partner - Transport, the Assistant Management Accountant will work as part of the Finance team providing financial support to the Transport organisation.
* The candidate needs to be a motivated individual who is a very accurate completer finisher who thrives in a busy team environment.
* This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to expand their accounting skills in management accounting field, who will play a key support role to both the Finance Business Partner as well as the Management Accountants in the Transport business.

Typical Deliverables:
* Production of overhead cost centre reports and commenting on the variances providing full variance analysis.
* In depth overhead reviews with senior management in Rail with variance analysis and commentary.
* Month end procedures including overhead accruals, TAS analysis, over/under recovery analysis and other ad-hoc project journals.
* Provide assistance with preparation of the Transport Ops review pack.
* Work with FBP to develop more robust Fleet reporting to assist the senior Rail managers.
* Review of utilisation reports and understanding on major variance factors and communicating this back to cost centre owners.
* Supporting the Management Accountants with updating funding on Oracle for multiple Forecasting fixed, variable and semi-variable costs on overhead cost centre by liaising with cost centre managers.
* Supporting with the annual rates build-up and annual overhead budget setting process.
* Submitting quarterly overheads forecasts in to Hyperion and reconciling back to each cost centre.
* Providing support to SMA and MAs as and when required.
* Dealing with ad-hoc overhead queries.

Business Operations Skills - Qualifications:
* AAT/CIMA/ACCA qualification started.
* Minimum 5 GCSE's grade A-C with at least B in Mathematics.
