Merton Integrated Complex Needs Team – Community Services

Band 7 Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietician
Part-time 22.5hrs / or Full-time considered
We are looking for a positive, self-motivated paediatric dietician with experience in home enteral feeding and a functional knowledge of working with students in special schools.
Your role will be to provide assessment, advice and treatment to children with a range of needs including; home enteral feeding, complex medical needs, allergies and intolerances, nutrition advice, faltering growth with/ without reflux, weight management, fussy eating and dysphagia (jointly managed with the SLT team). The role will include work within local clinics and special schools across Merton. The successful candidate must have experience of support and developing more junior members of staff.
You will work closely with established multi-professional teams within Merton Community Services and with outside services to deliver paediatric dietetics advice and treatment meeting the needs of children and young people across Merton. You will have had experience of working with home enteral feeding, children in the community and/or educational settings or similar. You should be able to evidence excellent team working and communication skills and you will have had experience of management and leadership.
We are committed to professional development and evidence based practice, offering regular in-service training and peer group / one to one supervision. Internal and external courses are supported. You will be required to have at least 2 years’ experience working as a practitioner with appropriate transferable skills working with children, engagement in post graduate training and education in areas related to home enteral feeding support or complex medical conditions is desirable. You should have experience of engaging in appraisal processes and be willing to further develop clinical skills.
