UCLH has two major strategic projects underway. On Grafton Way, we are building a facility which will be home to one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres, Europe’s largest centre for the treatment of blood disorders and a hyper modern surgery service. Close by on Huntley Street we are developing the new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Replacing the current hospitals on Grays’ Inn Road, this development will mean we can provide multidisciplinary care to our dental and ENT patients in a modern environment. Our Grafton Way facility is due to open in 2020, with Huntley Street opening in 2019.

We are seeking highly motivated energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Band 5 nurses to join our Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) team at UCLH.IF YOU ARE a Band 5 Nurse seeking experience in a different field…We are interested to meet you as we believe this is a great next step for you to develop your nursing career in HASU. Why not find out what we can do for you?We are one of eight specialist centres in London which delivers world class stroke Hyper acute services operating an 18 bedded unit and overseeing the treatment of approximately 2500 people a year. All patients are managed in the acute phase of their stroke and remain with us for 48-72hours and then are repatriated to their local stroke unit for rehabilitation care. A Nurse led service at the cutting edge of nursing developments, supported by a team of nurses fundamental to proving great care and a nursing educational team. Not only does this provide our ward nurses with opportunities to develop quickly, it gives them the time to care properly for patients. Our nursing ward ratios are on average 1 nurse to 4 patients.Whilst on HASU patients receive specialist care for acute stroke including; rapid access to emergency pathways such as Critical care and Endovascular transfers. The unit works closely with Emergency Department for rapid patient assessments.Supporting your Professional Development and careerWe recognise that the best nurses require the best education and training. We are renowned for providing leading professional development and will offer teaching and education around Specialist skills in acute stroke care. We support and encourage proactive nurses and nurse led activities. We aim to provide the Individuals that join our team tailored individual development packages.
