Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust provides general acute services for a population of 380,000 and hyper-acute stroke, vascular and renal services to people living throughout whole of Northamptonshire, a population of 692,000. The Trust is also an accredited cancer centre and provides cancer services to a wider population of 880,000 who live in Northamptonshire and parts of Buckinghamshire.
In addition to the main hospital site, which is located close to Northampton town centre, the Trust also provides outpatient and day surgery services at Danetre Hospital in Daventry.
The Sterile Services Department within Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust provides an invaluable behind the scenes service to all operating theatres and departments in all areas of the trust. The department provides all types of instrument packs/trays and equipment which are processed in our central facility.
Due to staff movement an opportunity has arisen for a Technician to step up to an Acting Team Leader role for a period of six months.
Our aim is to deliver exceptional services to our patients and customers.
The ideal candidate will need to have worked in a Sterile Services environment for a minimum of two years to have gained the appropriate skills and knowledge. The candidate will have an understanding of the Quality System. You will be part of a team that will look to develop services and operational efficiencies, whilst promoting yourself as a role model for the Technicians. You will be required to demonstrate what your key leadership skills are and your vision for the department.
The shift pattern will be: Week 1 – Monday to Friday 07:00 – 15:00
Week2 – Monday to Friday 14:00 - 22:00
Weekends – 1 in 4 – Saturday & Sunday 10:00 – 18:00
On-Call – 1 in 4 – 22:00 Friday – 07:00 Monday
This is a challenging but rewarding job and would be ideally suited to motivated team player’s.
