My Client is looking for a Credit Control Manager to join their business Finance. The role is based in Benfleet. As Credit Control Manager you will report in to the Finance Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Maintain and oversee credit control for over 3000 accounts B2B & B2C
• Follow procedures to proactively chase debts via post, email and telephone
• Raise Court Summons, Warrants of Execution and have an understanding of the legal system
• Understand the sales invoicing process and be able to provide cover when required
• Raise ad-hoc credit notes, invoices and journals as required
• Have knowledge of contractual agreements and be able to liaise with Councils on contracts
• Deal with all contractual queries regarding self-funders and council funded residents
• Calculate and apply interests for overdue accounts
• Liaise with solicitors to place Legal Charges on properties
• Provide support to clients to set up Deferred Payment Schemes
• Review and maintain allocation of payments
• Take telephone payments via debit/credit card (when required)
• Set up direct debits and taking payment via the direct debit run (when required)
• Reconcile accounts
• Work collaboratively with care homes and clients to resolve complaints and answer queries
• Ensure all financial paperwork is up to date and covered by Service Agreements
• Ensure in-house contractual documents are up to date with legislation
• Shortlist and Interview home administrators
• Ad-hoc projects and reporting of ledger actions and information to senior management.

• Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Accurate, attention to detail
• Works well within a team
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Previous experience of credit control is essential
• A good understanding of the accounts function within an organisation
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management or an equivalent professional body is desirable but not essential (those working towards gaining relevant professional qualifications are encouraged to apply)
• Previous experience within the care sector is desirable
