Revenue & Customs Digital Technology Services (RCDTS) was set up in 2015 as a subsidiary of HMRC`s Chief Digital & Information Officer Group and has one of the largest customer bases in the world.
As part of Cloud Delivery Group (CDG) development arm the team are responsible for translating overarching IT strategy into the technical architecture for CDG. This includes aligning with infrastructure standards and policies. The role includes working with delivery groups in producing or validating infrastructure designs. Working with cloud vendors and aligning services to requirements.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:·Create and maintain technical designs that are in line with HMRCs technology direction; ·Ensure compliance of technical architecture with HMRC technical standards and strategy; ·Contribute to definition of technical architecture to support solution definition; ·Work with CTO and Product Owners to translate overarching IT strategy into the technical architecture; ·Assessment of new technologies and approaches to ascertain their relevance and potential value as technology enablers, providing improvements in cost/ performance or sustainability. ·Promotion of emerging technology awareness across CDG; ·Be accountable for personal development and training.·Contribute to infrastructure design and development; ·Develop knowledge of cloud provider roadmaps; ·Maintain and develop proficiency in industry direction; ·Works with the CDG development team to implement new capabilities; ·Advises on technical design standards; ·Contributes to reviews and audits of projects from a technical design perspective; ·Engage in knowledge transfer across CDG; ·Engages in continuous improvement to improve CDG performance.
SC clearance is a requirement for this role. Candidates are expected to be SC cleared or willing to obtain it.
