So, what does the role of Perioperative Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) entail?
You’ll be reporting to the Theatre Manager and working as part of a collaborative and positive Theatre Team. You’ll maintain superb communication within the team to ensure that high standards of care are delivered to all patients within the Theatre Suite. Your role will be varied spanning scrub, anaesthetics and recovery, depending on your skill set.
What do I need in order to be considered for this Perioperative Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) role?
Be a Registered Operating Department Practitioner, or a Registered Nurse with a recognised theatre qualification
High standard of clinical practice with a range of clinical skills, supported by professional competence and knowledge
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to gain the confidence of colleagues and peers
Ability to use evidence based practice to provide high standards of care
Solid knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies such as the Care Quality Commission
Confident, with a proactive work ethic and the ability to thrive under adversity
IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
You will be employed on a permanent, monthly contract of 162.5 hours, working over a flexible 6-day week to meet the needs of the business. Additional hours can be taken as TOIL. Theatre opening times are 8am to 8.30pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 8am to 4pm. Requests to work part time hours or over 3 long days will be considered. Unsocial hours payment made if you work a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays.
