Sewell Wallis are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for a large professional services business based in Leeds. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking for more exposure on management accounts and to gain more experience within a large finance function.

The business who are well known within the Leeds area, are looking for an individual who would like to offer their own input in improving processes and identifying efficiencies. You will be offered full study support and development so that you can progress quickly in the next 12-18 months.

As Assistant Management Accountant your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Preparation of the monthly accruals and prepayments
* Preparation and posting of journals
* Preparation of monthly reconciliations and investigation into differences
* Ensure all inter company balances are reconciled
* Conduct a detailed review of cost lines on a monthly basis to understand each cost item
* Prepare entity management accounts and cost centre reports including commercial insights and variance analysis in line with month end timetable
* Assist in the preparation of the Group Management accounts report
* Support Business Partners with any queries and provide analysis as required
* Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and analysis completed on a timely basis for review by the Management Accountant.
* Assist in the provision of information requested by the auditors
* Liaise with the auditors and answer any queries where possible

The ideal candidate will be:

Studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA with some exams already completed
Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail
