We can provide you with a satisfying, nurturing and rewarding place to work.Job description:As the Analytics Engineer you will be a member of the Analytical Engineering Team within the corporate Engineering division. The scope encompasses the research, design, development and implementation of analytical methods and in particular simulation modelling for enterprises.You will make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the Analytics Team as a component of the System Information Design function within the Scaled Agile Framework, and as such the role must be oriented towards team work in an emerging and flexible environment.You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders in Engineering, Architecture, and Product Leadership. You will be responsible for enabling and managing demonstration capabilities and 3rd party component supplier technical relationships.You will participate and support policy making and establishing standards and common processes for analytical system development standards, methods and procedures.Key Accountabilities:- Produce, robust, well designed, and maintainable solutions in line with departmental standards, industry best practice and customer requirements.- Document work to agreed standards and procedures.- Facilitate internal and external customers to analyse requirements to produce agreed requirement specifications.- Liaising with Quality/SQA departments as the project demands.- Support and maintain deployed analytics.- Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modelling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner- Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales- Manage assigned tasks escalating issues to project/departmental managersQualificationsEducation:- Degree or MSc in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or other science related field, or equivalent project-related experienceSkills:Possess real-world mathematical and analytical work experience involving some of:- Simulation model design and development (discrete event, agent based and system dynamics)- Data science- Data acquisition- Data analysis and modelling- Decision support- Data mining- Predictive analytics- Machine learning- Statistics- Text analytics- Operations analytics.Experience / Technology - Previous analytics or statistical analysis experience is essential- Demonstrated proficiency with any analytical software and languages (for example R, Matlab, Anylogic, SAS, JMP) to develop prototype and production solutions is essential- Experience with Big Data Analytics and software development skills in C, C++, C# or Java will be advantageous but not essentialIn return we will be able to offer you a structured career pathway and development within the role including awareness and understanding of the industry.
