An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and confident Communications assistant to join its newly-formed investor relations function within their corporate finance team.

Our client is one of the UK's largest Utility companies and is based in central Reading, Berkshire with a salary of up to £42k pro rata depending on skills and experience. Flexible & part time hours will be considered. Investor relations sit within corporate finance, which is a dynamic and friendly team working in a fast-paced and varied environment. The wider team focuses on business performance and initiatives, investor/financial media relations and valuation and corporate M&A. The existing team members have varying backgrounds in investment banking, accounting and communications.

Sitting in a team close to the heart of the business, this role will expose you to a range of different disciplines and give you an overarching view of company performance enabling you to understand and communicate the mechanics, opportunities and challenges of the UK's largest water and wastewater business.

What does this role involve?
" Supporting the production of the front end of our annual and interim financial reports and annual performance report including collating and cataloguing sources for our auditors.
" Updating our annual financial publications - our finances explained and our taxes explained - which are designed to bring our finances to life and explain them in a simple way.
" Being responsible for refreshing and maintaining the content on the investor section of our website, working closely with the digital team.
" Writing financial press releases/press responses in line with our corporate brand.
" Monitoring financial coverage and trends in the media, working closely with the media team.
" Supporting the implementation of an internal communications plan for the 'finance and commercial' division to drive engagement and enable employees to keep up-to-date with both company and divisional news. Includes assisting with the delivery of internal events, writing newsletters and updating intranet content.
" Helping to internally promote our key financial messages, including the annual and interim results. Working collaboratively with the investor communications manager and the corporate internal communications team.
" Progressing initiatives to address the points raised in our annual employee survey, working with other representatives within the division and across the business.
What skills are we looking for?
Are you an excellent communicator? Do you have the passion and drive to be part of the investor relations team?

We are seeking a dedicated individual with a track record of consistently delivering high quality written outputs - corporate communications and report writing experience would be beneficial.

As part of a small and busy team, you should also have self-initiative, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to juggle a variety of different projects at one time.

Financial communications experience is not essential.

Please note, this role includes 'out of hours' on-call cover for the press office, approximately one week in six.
