An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Control Manager to join the region's leading retail business based in West Suffolk as part of the Financial Shared Service support function servicing all business units across the organisation. The purpose of the role is to manage a team of ten credit controllers across two geographic locations, driving strong performance and teamwork, and developing a first class customer service ethos and excellent internal and external relationships.

The main responsibilities include the following:
·Management of the credit control function
·Encouraging open channels of communication within the team and with all internal and external customers
·Ensuring that the team work in such a way that cover for absence is delivered seamlessly to the customer
·Dealing with any queries escalated quickly and efficiently
·Provide accurate and effective reporting of all overdue to debts to the relevant stakeholders and ensuring that actions not only of the team are followed up but also the business units.
·Ensure that overdue debt is escalated quickly in order to avoid unnecessary risk and potential write offs
·Monitor the performance of every individual within the team and provide the relevant support, training or performance management.
·Liaise with the Legal team and ensure the necessary actions take place in regard to irrecoverable debt.
·Perform personnel development reviews twice a year, monitor progress against development plans and carry out all line manager recruitment responsibilities.
·Constantly scrutinise and review processes with a view to delivering better controls, improved service and greater efficiencies

The position would suit a part-qualified or qualified ICM Credit Manager with a minimum of five years' experience ideally for a larger company with working knowledge of at least one major ERP or integrated accounting package and strong IT literacy. You will demonstrate strong people management skills and excellent planning and organisational skills. You will also be highly flexible and adaptable to business change with the ability to work well under pressure and to communicate effectively at levels.
