MAXIMUS is a global outsourcing business, with over 40 years’ experience of working with governments, employers and healthcare practitioners. The health and employment services sectors are expanding as government’s worldwide look for cost-effective, professional outsourcers. We’ve almost doubled in size over just five years and with 15,000 colleagues across four continents, we offer expertise, scale and opportunities for managers who want to grow with us, gain experience and build their career.

In the UK, we provide occupational health services to both the public and private sectors, we deliver contracts for the government’s Work Programmeand Fit for Work initiatives and, through Remploy, and we’re Britain’s largest employer of people with disabilities.

This role is with our Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA), which operates the Health Assessment Advisory Service for the UK government with 2,000 staff across 150 locations.

The CHDA Area Manager role is an operational leadership position, reporting to the Regional Director (Operations). Responsible for multiple local Assessment Centres and a regional administration hub, you will provide leadership and direction on the delivery of high quality face-to-face and paper-based assessments. Getting assessments right, and accurately managing the process and the flow of customers is vital to our work. The assessments help government officials understand how an illness or disability affect someone’s daily life.

You will be accountable for the overall delivery of volume, quality and customer service performance targets within your area, enabling collaborative working and resource sharing across your area to meet changes in demand.

Keeping a close track of management information and improving performance at local centres will be another key deliverable. Staff in your area will include operational delivery specialists, doctors, nurses and therapists. No two days will be the same.
We want talented operations experts who want to put their skills to good use and give their energy to something worthwhile. If you want to make a real difference at work why not join us?
