Crisis Resolution Teams across the boroughs.The Crisis Resolution Teams in Camden and Islington are seeking proactive, experienced and skilled Registered Mental Health Nurses /Registered General Nurses/Occupational Therapists to join the increasingly diverse workforce. The successful applicants will be required to have proven and extensive post-qualification experience ideally some of which would have been within an acute setting. You must be willing and committed to working as part of a 24-hour rota to include weekends, days, evenings and lone night-duty. Excellent communication skills are an expected pre-requisite as is the capacity to utilise all forms of electronic communications. The Trust uses electronic record-keeping throughout all its services. Crisis Resolution Teams Covering both boroughs in Camden and Islington, we offer an intensive crisis resolution and home treatment service providing mental health assessment and care to residents of the boroughs, a robust gatekeeping service for in-patient facilities and support early discharges where appropriate. Effective home treatment supports the family in caring for the individual in the least restrictive environment, providing alternative to hospital/crisis house admission. To fulfill this role, the team provides a 24 hour service, 365 days per year including a waking night service. Much contact takes place within the home, so you must also be able to drive or to travel independently via public transport. Although we work as a team, the capacity and confidence to undertake lone working is essential. In addition to face to face interventions, you will also possess strong telephone negotiation and support skills and be part of a rotating staff roster which populates Camden and Islington’s Crisis Call Centre. Here, the crisis team staff members are able to successfully support the community by offering a clinically led mental health telephone line that triages crisis calls, helping to problem solve at this initial point of contact whilst allowing the teams on the ground to focus on quality face to face contacts. The successful applicants will be expected to take operational day to day management responsibility as required at team/service level including occasional cover for the Band 7 Clinical Team Managers. The teams apply a range of therapeutic modalities, using evidence based interventions in accordance with the requirements of service line care pathways.
