Position Summary
A small to medium sized plant, which forms a part of a large global organisation, is recruiting for an Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organising and managing the daily operation of the Accounting functions and projects assigned to the site, while ensuring that department responsibilities are performed and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Essential Functions
- Overseeing: Compliance & Taxes, AP/AR, & Payroll, budgeting, financial statements and cost reports, and analysis receipts and disbursements, general journals, fixed assets.
- Preparing forecasts and monthly management reports.
- Compiling an annual budget along with analysis to departments for variance analysis and cost reduction.
- Developing, implementing and assessing short and long-term programs, goals and objectives for accounting department.
- Ensuring that accounting practices, records, controls and decisions are made according to UK GAAP and Company policy.
- Organising and managing periodic stock takes and perform inventory reconciliations.
- Preparation of statutory accounts.
- Overseeing preparation and completion of the UK tax package
- Payroll administration and associated tax and government reporting.
- Providing leadership and work direction, and evaluating the performance of subordinate accounting and IT staff.
- Performing other duties as required.

Position Requirements

- Right to live and work in UK
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent accounting qualification i.e. degree in Finance or Accounting
- 7 years of broad-based accounting/reporting experience, including supervisory or management experience
- Working knowledge of UK tax laws
- Experience working with and producing management and statutory accounts
- Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft Office environment with advanced Excel skills
- Experience in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience working at multinational organisations and US GAAP will be advantageous
- Knowledge of SAP software will be advantageous
