30 hours per week to include weekends and evenings

Post based within South Derbyshire

The role is in our Derbyshire domestic abuse service and you would be working within our Derbyshire County Council funded service supporting young people and children affected by domestic abuse. You will be an experienced support worker offering a targeted, safe, caring support service to children and young people including those who have lived in refuge accommodation. You will have a responsibility to work towards outcomes with the children and young people including supporting them to keep safe, improve confidence and self esteem, personally grow and develop and improve expectations of interpersonal relationships. You will also need to provide them with emotional support to overcome the domestic abuse.

You will have a flexible approach to work and be eager to progress your career gaining valuable experience in domestic abuse services. The successful candidate will be innovative and used to networking with external partners in order to achieve an affective holistic support service for customers.

Ideally you will be qualified up to level 3 or equivalent in childcare or health and social care and have a proactive approach to learning and will be able to take in house training relevant to domestic abuse services. Ideally you will also be experienced in completing single assessments and early help pre-assessments.

The ideal candidate will have experience and skills in delivering domestic abuse services to children and young adults and have an understanding of the needs of this customer group.

Please note it is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) for this post holder to be female due to the customer group
