We are currently looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our clients team based in Eye, Suffolk on permanent basis.

Main duties:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of the four-weekly payroll for employees on the Sage payroll system. (This includes the entire cycle of payroll processing from capturing of new employees, leave, terminations and check and authorize changes to hours)
  • Responsible for the co-ordination between Payroll and HR, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee dataMaintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorizationGenerating standard payroll reports as requiredKeep abrest with Company policies and tax legislation that impact on remunerationCommunicate payroll changes to the Group HR Manager and Finance Director as appropriateProvide cover for weekly payroll and salaried payroll as required

    Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:

    ·Demonstrable experience in a payroll administration role performing all payroll functions

    ·Excellent IT skills including MS Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and ideally Sage payroll

    ·Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in a payroll accounting system

    ·Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

    ·Excellent problem solving / judgement skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

    ·Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure

    ·Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks and meet all required deadlines

    ·Flexible attitude to work content

    ·Good interpersonal skills and communication skills

    ·Outgoing, personable, responsible, self-motivated and confident

    This is full time, permanent role.

    Salary is £19,000 up to £20,000 per annum dependent on experience.
