Role: Staff Nurse (RMN)Salary: £28 - 33K Per AnnumLocation: SomersetThe Staff Nurse role involves: * Adhering at all times to the NMC code of professional conduct.* Conducting a legal, ethical, and accountable practice and remaining open to the scrutiny of peers.* Respecting the rights of others sensitively and with regard to issues of equality and diversity.* Promoting and ensuring that each member of the team works to the standards of ethical practice.* Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, government and local policy and best practice including the Mental Health Act. Clinical Governance and Standards for Better Health.* Ensuring adherence to health, safety and security legislation, and policy.* Participating in maintaining the physical, relational and procedural security of the service to ensure the safety of all.* Recognising the value of effective communication and the potential for developing therapeutic relationships, effective teamwork, interdisciplinary working, and customer care.* Utilising effective communication to develop professional therapeutic relationships, optimise patient engagement, and facilitate interdisciplinary working.* Managing sensitive communication.* Managing sensitive, highly complex, and contentious communication, referring complex issues as appropriate.* Ensuring the use of effective communication to promote the organisation to external bodies.* Promoting a culture in which the assessment, planning, and review of care plans are delivered effectively within the broader responsibilities of the key worker.* Monitoring and ensuring that all patients are actively involved in the process of care.* Acting as key worker for a designated group of patients and associate nurse as required.* Ensuring all patients have comprehensive evidence based risk management plan.* Participating in and ensuring involvement in pre-admission assessment of referred patients.* Respecting the role and function of the team and accepting collective responsibility for team decisions.* Operating effectively as a team member.* Promoting effective decision making.* Using political awareness to influence change and develop a vision.* Developing a spirit of cooperation in working towards shared goals.* Encouraging and promotes innovation and imaginative problem solving.* Enabling team decision making.* Ensuring compliance with audit requirements and lead implementation of recommendations.* Ensuring compliance with legislative and professional standards.* Acting as clinical supervisor and ensuring that all staff participates in clinical supervision.* Monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring effective use of resources within set budgets.* Participating in local on call arrangements* Understanding and working within professional boundaries.* Ensuring a commitment to the promotion and delivery of basic living skills within a forensic mental health care setting.* Participating in the delivery of evidence based interdisciplinary programmes of care.* Supporting junior staff in their contribution to therapeutic interventions as agreed by the interdisciplinary team.* Managing medication as per hospital policy.* Contributing to health promotion within the ward environment.* Applying recognised therapeutic interventions e.g. CBT, PSI.* Applying Safeguarding policies To be successful as a Staff Nurse, you'll need: * RMN / RNLD.* Demonstrable post registration experience..* Experience of secure environment and interdisciplinary teamwork.* Experience of co-ordinating care.* Experience of prioritising key tasks in relation to sphere of work.* Experience of management of Health & Safety and related issues.* Experience of report writing.
