Do you thrive on a changing environment, where no two days are the next? Then you might be our next Deputy Head of Healthcare at HMP Wormwood Scrubs. HMP Wormwood Scrubs is a Category B men's prison, located in the Wormwood Scrubs area of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, where we deliver, as the prime provider, all healthcare services within the prison, from Primary Care (GP) and Dental to Mental Health services to Physiotherapy. We are a busy prison, with a fast turnover, that gives us unique, but exciting challenges in a fast paced and forever changing landscape. About the job As Deputy Head of Healthcare, you'll be responsible for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the prison. You will be responsible for ensuring that all service level agreements are maintained, that performance-monitoring standards are adhered to and the highest standards of care are maintained. Your responsibilities as the Deputy Head of Healthcare will include leading, directing and coordinating clinical services to maximise the delivery of high quality healthcare across the prison. You will report directly to the Head of Healthcare and will work in synergy with them to deliver an outstanding service, compliant with NHS Framework Clinical Outcomes. You will actively participate in the delivery of the Governance Agenda, agreeing and setting standards, measuring performance against those standards, the effective management of clinical risk, the identification of best practice and addressing remedial actions as required. You will also be responsible for the implementation of new services, reporting and evaluation of service delivery. You will have excellent grasp of financial management, and will always be keen to explore new and different ways of working. You will have evidenced experience of leading both clinical and non-clinical services and working collaboratively with partner organisations. You will need to ensure that your team are appropriately trained and developed and that you have a passion for people. The role requires you to have the ability to adapt to a changing environment, be fast thinking and a drive to be an excellent operational manager. Qualifications: Desirable, Not Essential: - Evidence of Management Training - Evidence of Continued Professional Development within professional / vocational field - Prince 2 Practitioner - Evidence of further professional education to degree level or equivalent i.e. - Registered Nurse RGN or RMN, Registered Pharmacist Further job information: *Interviews will be taking place on the 13th February; a presentation will be requested to be delivered at Interview – details of which will be shared with you, if you are successful* This is a full-time vacancy, working 37.5 hour per week. We welcome informal visits to the prison but these must be booked in advance. The salary for this role is up to £44,000 per annum, depending on experience.
