A privately owned industrial services firm in Bootle requires an experienced Company Accountant to join their small team.

Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for:

* Banking, bank reconciliation and paying in of cheques and credit card payments
* Completing quarterly VAT returns
* Posting monthly payroll journals and year-end adjustments
* Reconciling and maintaining the balance sheet
* Design and implementation of profitability reporting
* Managing and processing a weekly payroll, setting up new starters and processing leavers
* Processing payments through the bank
* Submitting pension file and PAYE payment submissions
* Managing a credit ledger balance of c£300k, cash allocation
* Reviewing credit limits and assessing customer risk
* Commencing litigation procedures for non-payment
* Managing suppliers and supplier payments

Experience & Skills Required:

* Up to date and relevant experience in a similar role
* AAT Qualified or equivalent
* Able to improve procedures, processes
* Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll experience
* Hands-on transactional and payroll experience
* Proven knowledge of RTI and auto-enrolment

The role offers you considerable autonomy and you can have a real impact in modernising processes and procedures. You will be able to implement new customer reports and mitigate customer risk. Initially you will start on a temporary basis as the company needs you ASAP. There is a genuine permanent position available for you should you convince the Directors that you're the right fit for the long-term.
