Practice Manager – Fleet Street, London

Our client is a 16-partner firm with two offices, one located in central London and another in Paris, who provide accountancy, audit and tax services to their wide range of clients. They have a friendly, fun and down to earth culture with excellent training, development and progression within the business.

The position that has come available is an exciting opportunity to join their team in a varied Manager role providing advice over a broad spectrum of services including accounts, tax, trusts and audits, as well as looking after a diverse portfolio of clients and generally working closely with some of the partners.

Roles & Responsibilities of the Manager role - Fleet Street, London

Managing their own varied portfolio including the planning and execution of the work, as well as the drafting of correspondence and billing

Start to completion on accounting, tax, trusts and audit (or at least two of these competencies)

Ensuring work is completed in a timely manner and to a high standard

Reviewing work and giving feedback to junior staff

Liaising directly with the Partners and ensuring the work of your team is ready for sign off in the required deadlines

Acting as the main point of contact for the clients in the portfolio and corresponding with them in the most appropriate way

Dealing with HMRC, investment managers, lawyers and other third parties

Assisting with other ad hoc assignments in relation to the financial affairs of clients

Assisting with marketing the firm and attending networking events with co-professionals, as appropriate

Taking on the responsibility of a team and their work

The ideal candidate for this Manager role - Fleet Street, London

Preferably ACA qualified with first time passes and a good academic record, ACCA will also be considered

2 years post qualification practice experience

At least 1 years supervisory or management experience

A strong general accountancy background, ideally including personal tax

Experience of trusts and estates would be an advantageous, but not essential

Effective client handling and service skills

Confidence in dealing with the HMRC, bankers and investment managers

Able to take responsibility for own assignments and billings as well as the team as a whole and use initiative

Experienced in coaching and delegating to staff as well as organising and reviewing the work of junior staff

Strong communication skills to liaise with clients verbally or in writing

Flexible working attitude

Must be able to work on a number of clients’ affairs at the same time

Organised and methodical approach

Good IT skills – including proficient use of Excel and Word

Experience with some of the following systems would be beneficial - Pro Audit, Alpha Tax, CCH, Xero, Sage, Digita, Quickbooks
