I am currently recruiting for 5x Java Application Developer's to work within a leading retail software company based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

A quick snapshot…

* Take work assignments from Head of Product Development or Product Owner
* Work as part of Scrum/Agile Team
* Work with other members and departments
* Analysis and design (primarily related to new functionality and platform enhancements)
* Get involved with existing product code with analysis, design and maintenance
* Active involvement in platform technology and architectural choices
* Review other team member's specifications as part of approval process
* QA other team member's code
* Acquire/ maintain an understanding of business processes pertinent to the software
* Be actively involved in the design of new features, platform architecture and strategic
technology choices
* Improve the Commerce Platform:
o Features and functionality
o Performance
o Architecture
o Integration
o Maintenance
* Usability for clients and for other developers
* Demonstrate collaborative working within and outside department
* Actively follow the published company values

Here's what skills you'll need…

* Minimum 3-4 years working with J2EE applications as a developer using:
* Spring
* REST API
* EJB 2/3
* MVC framework
* ORM - Hibernate
* SQL
* Common design patterns
* Can do attitude, proactive and collaborative working
* High standard of written and spoken English
* Able to write functional specifications

* Familiarity with PCI and OWASP
* JMS
* Web services and SOA
* JSON
* Lucene/ Solr
* Stored procedures, triggers, views
* MYSQL 5
* Tiles
* JSTL
* DROOLS
* Struts
* Maven
* Ecommerce (advantage)

* Designs use best practices and known patterns where applicable
* Technology and architectural choices are proven over a long period of time
* Code is reusable and modular well thought out and well documented
* Using initiative; coming up with new ideas and being proactive
* Number of defects in code should be minimal, striving towards development without the
creation of any defects at all.
* End to testing of your item delivery before submission of code to QA team, using
automation or manual where required
* Time estimation accuracy
* Rate of work
* Demonstrate ownership of platform quality
* Act in accordance with the published company values
