Optical Assistant Position

They require a fully experienced optical assistant looking to go on the dispensing course or would consider someone already on the dispensing course looking for a new environment to work.
This practice is situated in a busy part of the city and has strong footfall with a loyal customer base made up of a good mix of private and NHS patients.
They have a very friendly, long serving and patient focused team in place who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of care possible and they have a very good local reputation for excellence in customer care.
Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant
The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches.
You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options.
Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.
Requirements of the Optical Assistant
At least 1 years experience in a busy practice is beneficial but not essential and the ability to dispense to all levels with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
Compensation for the Optical Assistant
For your skills and input my client is offering a competitive salary between £14,000 – £15,500 dependent on experience and level of qualification already at and a strong bonus scheme and additional benefits. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training with the benefit of progression on to the dispensing optician course if not already on it as well as joining a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
