My client is a leading service provider in their field, looking after 70,000 patients nationally and looking after 27 products across multiple therapy areas. My client is looking for a candidate that is able to build a strategy and implement it to make their service the best in class. This role is for a true leader that wants to improve and build on an existing Pharmacovigilance team. Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership on pharmacovigilance activities, including business contractual requirements. To contribute to the PV strategy for the wider UK businesses, working closely with the central PV team Manage the pharmacovigilance team that are responsible for adverse event, product complaint and patient safety activities across the company. To support business development opportunities through due diligence and providing pharmacovigilance expertise and overall clinical judgment to both internal and external stakeholders. To be responsible for overseeing the generation of appropriate working policies and supporting process documentation. Provide line management (including recruitment, appraisal, training and coaching) for the above services. Develop, implement and maintain working practices that safeguards patient safety and minimises risk. Develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with customers. Manage the performance and compliance for recording and reporting of adverse event and product complaints ensuring identified actions are followed up and tracked against agreed timescales. Experience Educated to degree level (Bachelors or Masters) in a relevant discipline (eg Pharmacy, Pharmacovigilance or Pharmaceutical Sciences). The post holder must have extensive experience of working within a Pharmacovigilance environment and an understanding of Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety requirements. Experience of working at a senior level in a healthcare organisation Registered to practice Pharmacy with the General Pharmaceutical Council (desirable, not essential) The post-holder must be able to identify, assess, balance and proactively manage risks arising from any conflicts between commercial pressures and regulatory requirements.
