Full Stack Software Engineer - (Ruby/Rails) based in London Paying up to 70,000 depending on experience plus fantastic benefits An innovative and highly successful start-up, with offices across theglobe, is looking for a Ruby / Rails Full Stack Developer to join themon their mission to create a worldwide service. They have won and havebeen shortlisted for a number of awards including 100 Hottest Startupsand most Disruptive Companies. As a part of their Product team, you will be a key part of continuouslyimproving their existing applications, and bringing new features tolife. Youll be helping to build the best experiences for their brands,customers and in-house team. What Youll Be Doing Helping architect and building solutions to business critical problems Participating in interesting projects such as: Building tools and recommendation engines to help match customers tothe right products Creating a first-class communications platform for their team to keeptheir customers happy Providing continuous improvements in the way they collect and providedata for all teams to use when making decisions Improving their deployment pipeline to reduce the time taken to getchanges into production Providing necessary data and functionality to our frontenddevelopers, whether directly or through well-designed APIs Experimenting with new tools and technologies to produce cutting-edgesolutions to business problems Be a part of a self organising, results oriented agile team usingKanban to ship new product Keeping our Stack relevant by helping to adopt amicroservice-inspired architecture Were looking for a mid to senior level candidate who has: Strong skills in Ruby and Ruby on Rails Knowledge of good database design and query optimisation You have opinions and want to do the right thing; as youll own theproduct, and care about the direction it goes in Youre passionate about writing good code and high quality automatedtests; as they dont have a dedicated QA team, so its important for youto be able to test thoroughly Experience of AWS (or similar) services, such as EC2, RDS andRedShift; youll be exposed to these in this role, even if you have noprevious Ops experience Frontend development; especially React and modern Javascript (ES6) A good understanding of any of the following would be a bonus: Elasticsearch, Sidekiq, state machines, data warehousing, and ETL processes Experience of managing applications on cloud environments (usingtools such as OpsWorks) Company Philosophy They make ideas happen, whilst working with some of the mostinspiring and innovative brands out there.
