YOU MUST HOLD A FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE AND HAVE UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO A VEHICLE.
The role of a care worker is to provide person centered support to elderly, vulnerable adults in their own homes while encouraging independence and promoting dignity and respect at all times.Duties will include:-Assisting with personal care to both male and female service users, assisting to dress and undress, wash, shower, bathe, change pads, empty and clean commodes, change bedding and assist with laundry.Assist with medication by verbally prompting or providing physical assistance i.e opening medicine bottles, popping blisters from blister packs etc.Food preparation, providing breakfast, lunch and evening meals, usually microwave meals or "quick meals" due to time limitations.Light housework - dusting, vacuuming and emptying bins, washing dishes, assisting with laundry.Documenting every visit in clients files - excellent written communication skills are vital.Engaging with service users, talking and listening to them, excellent spoken English and a clear speaking voice is necessary as a lot of our service users are hard of hearing, communication is key to this role.Our care workers provide both practical and emotional support to our clients, many are lonely and YOU could be the only person that they see, therefore, you must be kind, compassionate, caring and understanding with a genuine desire to help others, you should be patient, honest and understanding and respectful at all times.In return, Medacs Healthcare offer competitive rates of pay, free and ongoing training and support, free uniforms and free DBS and membership to our company pension scheme. The role requires continuity of care, therefore, reliability is a vital core value that is required, absence must be kept to an absolute minimum, our service users rely on us to be there!You must be able to commit to a minimum of 4 shifts per week.
Shift patterns are:- 07.00 to 13.30 and 15.30 to 22.30 - you can work either shift pattern or a mixture of both - all our care workers must work alternate weekends.Pay rates are £8.50 per hour Monday to Friday, £9.00 per hour Weekends and £12.75 per hour Bank Holidays.YOU MUST HOLD A FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE AND HAVE UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO A VEHICLE.
