JOB SUMMARY: The Centre Manager (CM) is tasked with the co-ordination of multipleproject teams within a given business area of responsibility; ensuringthe achievement of timely delivery of a quality product and overallprofitability performance in line with the company objectives. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE The person undertaking this role should have experience of: Leading large, multi-disciplined teams on a variety ofaerospace-related projects. Able to motivate and co-ordinate teams in order to facilitate thedevelopment of innovative yet cost-effective engineering solutions tocomplex technical problems. Responsibility for the co-ordination of resource utilisation acrossthe business and for building robust team and customer relationships tofacilitate business growth. Demonstrate strong leadership skill and the ability to enableeffective communication in a pressurised team environment. Possess a proactive, can-do attitude that encourages and supportstheir peers, teams and management team. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operating within a position of key business importance, the CentreManager will be expected to undertake the following: Responsible for management of the profitability (ContributionMargins) and utilisation (Applied Ratio) against agreed revenue targets. Responsible for timely response to RFQ/RFI requirements and ad hocsupport to ongoing customer meetings etc. Responsible for maintaining effective and value enhancing projectcontrol processes across the area of responsibility. Responsible for the overall monitoring and reporting of projectperformance Responsible for the effectiveness of the QMS and the adherence tosame by the engineering community. Deputising for the Head of UK OBU as and when required. Engineering excellence and timely delivery of projects within theirarea. Support to the Engineering Program Managers and Lead Engineers acrosstheir respective projects. Structured, regular and effective internal and externalcommunication, providing a key point of contact for customers and staff. Implements and supports LEAN, process, and other company initiatives. Assists in the development of effective business processes andmetrics. Organises the teams in their areas through the deployment of thecompany organisational structure helping to define leadership roles andresponsibilities to reporting staff. Provide a conduit for ensuring harmonisation of approach across theengineering business streams. Work with existing customers to identify potential new business areasand co-ordinate effort across the business to turn these into contractedwork. Continually review the business stream performance in order toidentify potential areas requiring additional support or opportunitiesto improve efficiency. Take responsibility for offload of work to our Global Organisation. PRINCIPAL INTERFACES The CM is required to maintain regular interfaces at all levels ofCompany operations to ensure business objectives are achieved andapproved in accordance with Customers requirements. These may include: Head of UK Delivery Chief Engineer (where applicable) Direct Reports Engineering Program Managers, Lead Engineers Engineers within the project teams Human Resources Manager and Advisors Talent Acquisition Team Strategic Accounts Management Team Global Virtual Business Unit Team Quality and IT Customer interactions with these teams should portray a positiveimage of the QuEST Engineering capability and the wider QuESTorganisation. Issues should be dealt with promptly but rationally andwithout the sacrifice of programme integrity/profitability. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS Experience in an Aerospace discipline, with leadership responsibility A strong understanding of technology trends and experience ofmanaging programmes from a project and financial perspective. Qualifications - Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent. CONDITIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS The business objectives are frequently prepared against tight schedulesand will often require a personal level of flexibility to support theCompany and Customer requirements.
