DevOps Engineer

Our client is responsible for developing highly graphical, interactive, high availability software for millions of sports teams in the UK and around the world. In this brand new role, they are looking for an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer to help guide their DevOps strategy and continue to foster a DevOps culture within the organisation.

Working in a great office space just outside central Leeds (with free parking onsite), this is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, well established company at an exciting time of organic growth.

DevOps Engineer – The Role

This hands-on DevOps Engineer role will involve developing and maintaining configuration management tooling across all environments, from production, to staging, to development. You will also help steer and formalise DevOps procedures within the organisation, as well as continually looking at ways to automate processes and optimise high traffic systems for improved availability and performance. In terms of background, they need someone ideally who has come up through the ranks as a Linux Sys Admin, with a good understanding of AWS, strong scripting skills, and experience of automation tools (Ansible) and Git for version control.

DevOps Engineer – Technical Skills / Experience

·Recent, commercial experience of AWS or a similar cloud platform

·Recent experience of Linux Ubuntu, Apache, NGINX, MySQL, Redis and MongoDB

·Experience of automation tools such as Ansible

·Knowledge of Git for version control

·Professional experience writing and maintaining configuration management scripts / templates / programs

·Experience of working in an Agile environment, on high traffic, high availability systems, would be a definite advantage.
