Our client is a well-established international communications agency, which due to sustained growth, is seeking a Senior Medical Writer to join their London, Cheshire, Oxfordshire or Sussex offices. The purpose of the role is to research, write, edit and prepare high-quality materials for a variety of projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that each item is developed according to the brief and that they meet client-agreed objectives and come in on time and to budget. In addition you can expect an excellent salary and package of benefits including five weeks holiday (rising to six weeks with service), pension, healthcare and bonus. Responsibilities: Undertake strategic projects (e.g. opinion leader development, publication planning, communications planning) as appropriate Attend project briefing meetings, and provide good briefings to colleagues and freelancers when required To liaise with clients, authors and colleagues to progress projects effectively To input on project specifications, costings and schedules, working as a key member of the project team to ensure projects are delivered to time, quality and budget To ‘quality control’ (content review/error read) content developed by other editorial team members within the account, feeding back clearly, constructively and sensitively both in writing and verbally To provide guidance and direction to less-experienced writers in the account team To support the broader team to develop accounts through identification and conversion of new account opportunities as they arise Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Educated to degree level in a life science, preferably PhD Previous experience of creating pharmaceutical marketing materials within an agency environment including: primary and review articles for submission to peer-review journals, monographs, sales aids, slide kits etc. To have experience of all core project-types, and the ability to apply that experience to new projects Enjoy interacting with clients in a prominent capacity Have mentored or line-managed staff Excellent communications skills (oral and written) Excellent attention to detail The company has a broad client list and consequently has a diversity of global, international and domestic accounts.
