This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant and growing healthcare communications agency as a medical writer to be based in their Surrey offices. Our client is seeking candidates with an excellent scientific understanding, an ability to tell a scientific story that resonates with the target audience, a passion for communications and outstanding writing skills, coupled with the personality to build relationships. Responsibilities: Lead on the writing of communications materials to meet all client expectations, on deadline, from conception to completion Write scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, etc. confidently and quickly Extremely accurate at research and referencing Edit your own and others’ work to high level of accuracy (includes substantive editing such as incorporating author amends to someone else’s work) Reference your own and others’ writing – marking up references meticulously and to meet client requirements exactly Research and write an extended outline for any project Understand and follow all publication guidelines, as required (including GPP3, ICJME, CONSORT, etc.) Liaise confidently and effectively with KOLs/HCPs – discussing the science To make and develop good client and HCP relationships Assist in writing proposals for new or existing clients To work as a team to achieve project/account goals – coordinating with others and taking ownership for your own work Support and guide others in the team– checking their work and giving helpful and constructive feedback Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A life science graduate, preferably a PhD Previous experience as a medical writer in a healthcare communications agency environment Excellent command of the English language and outstanding writing and communication skills Ability to rapidly learn and apply knowledge in previously unfamiliar therapy areas Exceptional attention to detail in relation to both scientific content and editorial standards Experience of client liaison Therapy area knowledge of transplantation, kidney disease, HIV or hepatitis would be an advantage ID Search & Selection has been successfully placing candidates in healthcare communications jobs for over 15 years.
