Our client is a busy and successful medical communications agency with four offices in the UK. They are seeking an experienced medical writer to create and review pharmaceutical marketing content. They work on a wide range of projects including publications, meeting materials, elearning and medical affairs over a range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiovascular medicine, neurology and immunology. Project work is produced for a range of media, including print, websites, videos, apps and more. They are currently recruiting for a Principal Medical Writer to work as part of a highly motivated editorial team. You will be expected to liaise directly with clients and with clinical experts on high-profile projects and you will have the opportunity to coach and mentor more junior members of their growing team. Responsibilities: Write clear, grammatically correct and creative text in line with the requirement of the client and at a level that is appropriate for the final audience. Build a rapport with clients, key opinion leaders and others in a positive and enthusiastic manner. Manage a range of projects from inception to completion and liaise with other team members where required. Ensure projects remain within specification and liaise with clients to negotiate changes where necessary. Be proactive in tracking projects and chasing comments from the client, authors or speakers, and develop a time schedule if appropriate. Work on a variety of projects concurrently. Contribute ideas for business proposals and/or suggest new projects to the client that would help in the promotion of their product. Attend meetings and produce appropriate meetings materials where required. Provide feedback for trainee writers to help them improve their writing skills. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A Degree or PhD in a life science, or related area is required. Candidates should have previous experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry and/or a medical communications agency, and experience of writing a broad range of pharmaceutical marketing materials.
