Client Services Director - Med Comms
Our client is seeking a Client Services Director (CSD) to join their senior management team and play a key role in the commercial direction of the company. This role can be based in their Oxfordshire or Cheshire offices. Our client is an international medical communications agency which is seeking a CSD to lead client service teams, provide strategic insight and oversight of accounts as well as being involved in business development and financial planning. Purpose: The Client Service Director is responsible for developing existing accounts to their full potential, achieving budget for their accounts and identifying and securing new business opportunities. Strategic and Commercial Insight: Provide strategic input/commercial insight to clients and to the internal team Ensure client receive proactive ideas and creative input to assist and challenge their own thinking and planning Keep abreast of developments and attitudes in the worldwide healthcare environment to share with account team and client as appropriate Advise client on budget priorities and spend Client Service: Develop an extensive client network and become an expert in the needs of those clients Secure profitable ongoing business Review meetings with clients to prospectively plan work Proactively identify account opportunities and make recommendations to client Conduct regular client meetings to review project performance including co-ordination of client health check with senior management as appropriate Contribute to accounts through hands-on management of the client and as appropriate key expert liaison Lead development of proposals/pitches on existing and new accounts, working closely as required with the Global Commercial Director Leadership: Line management of Client Service team members As required, lead the internal account team, providing support and advice on client and project issues Motivate internal team Instil project ownership and smooth running of accounts Regularly review performance of delivery team for alignment with client expectations (e.g. quality/timelines) and business needs Brainstorm opportunities through regular account team meetings Input to the selection of team members based on client profile Actively participating in Client Service Team meetings, e.g. by suggesting agenda items, sharing experiences of best practice and suggestions for further product and service development Business Development: Drive development of proposals for current clients and contribute to the strategy and content of the proposal Identify, research and engage with new clients/companies as part of the new business plan Financial Accountability: Oversee and drive account plan development and deliver fee-growth target for account Review financial forecasts for accounts on a monthly basis Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Life Science Degree A depth of knowledge and experience of directing global pharmaceutical marketing accounts preferably achieved within a medical communications agency/ pharmaceutical or equivalent environment An ability to see the big picture and provide advice and industry intelligence to clients, providing broader capabilities and solutions to issues over and above conventional account management.
