Account Manager / Senior Account Manager - Med Comms
This is an opportunity to join an award winning medical communications agency. This agency is renowned for the high science content of their work, and now you can join their talented team in either their Central London or Cheshire offices. This role will assist with the effective management of a variety of high quality scientific communications ensuring the efficient and timely implementation of projects, as well as business development and the management of staff. The role is varied but will include working on the delivery of large scientific meetings and managing professional relations with leading academics for European accounts. This is a high profile role working across a number of long term stable oncology accounts. There is real scope for an ambitious AM/SAM to lead their own accounts and contribute to organic business growth. Responsibilities: Oversee the implementation and timely delivery of materials and services to the complete satisfaction of the client Uses scientific and commercial expertise to provide the highest quality advice and present creative ideas that meet client needs Develops and maintains relationships with key opinion leaders working within the therapy area(s) and provides high quality scientific support services Develops strategic and tactical marketing plans with client and applies high level of scientific and commercial knowledge. Ensures that the team are fully up to date in movements within the external environment in order to pre-empt client needs and offer services. Function as day to day contact on complex projects or larger projects Coordinate internal project team(s) including staff and individuals from other departments and offices, including ongoing budget review, and management of all projects through delivery on schedule Prepare budgets for all proposed activities for final approval by Account Director Prepare financial reconciliation upon completion of projects Communicate progress on each assigned project at weekly team update meetings with staff Provides coaching and develops more junior team members where and when needed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A life sciences degree and preferably a master’s or PhD Previous experience of pharmaceutical marketing account management gained in a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical environment Experience of delivering large standalone meetings such as investigator meetings, ad boards, workshops etc. Knowledge and experience in broad range of therapy areas, although oncology would be an advantage General computer literacy required with intermediate use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
