BioCMC is expanding and we are soon opening the doors to our new 17,000ft2 High quality lab space in our new facility near Sand Hutton, York. We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Analyst to work within the BioCMC solutions Division in York. The facility will accommodate a broad range of Protein Chemistry analytical techniques including HPLC, CE & iCE, ELISA, Cell Based Assay’s and Mass spectrometry. The facility will also include a sample management & stability storage suite. The Covance York facility is based on attractive 80 acre of parkland setting on the NAFIC Business Park a few miles north of York and comprises of an on-site Gym, nursery, restaurant & café. There will also be designated parking for Covance employees. The successful individual will have responsibility to work as a laboratory analyst within a fast paced and highly regulated environment and will conduct analytical work according to applicable regulatory requirements, specifically GMP. Work will be performed according to study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved, being a point of contact for analysts and clients and ensuring that client deadlines are met. They are also responsible for the efficient completion of analytical procedures within BioCMC. To provide study supervision and operational support necessary for the performance of a wide variety of studies carried out in BioCMC. Will supervise and participate in a wide range of analytical techniques & procedures. Will work closely with Scientists to ensure studies are performed according to scientific and technical standards and in a timely and cost effective manner. Will provide guidance to more junior members of staff in all aspects of laboratory work including routine assays and assistance with trouble shooting and method validation work. As required, the post holder will be expected to provide appropriate procedural and technical training for BioCMC staff to develop specific study capabilities. The individual should maintain a track of study activity and strive to keep projects on schedule. The post holder will ensure adherence to the BioCMC SOPs and will be responsible for completion of all relevant documentation. Education / Qualifications Relevant Science degree Experience The post holder should typically have: Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Word, Excel). In-depth understanding of Health and Safety policies, Company Policies and Procedures, a working knowledge of ISO (accreditation and application), and an in-depth understanding of the GxPs. The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels with other Covance employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
