Our client is one leading private hospital's based in Surrey. The hospital itself is set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings making it the perfect retreat for patients to recuperate.
They offer a wide range of services including Endoscopy, Orthopaedic Surgery, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cosmetics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Vascular, Gynaecology, Urology and Cosmetics. The hospital itself has 18 private en-suite bedrooms and a day case unit. The day cases are able to offer minor cases and Endoscopy. They also have a very sophisticated Theatre department equipt with laminar air flow.
We are currently looking to recruit some a Ward Sister to work on the General Surgery ward of the hospital.
Working alongside the Unit Manager on the ward you will be responsible for ensuring the right standard of care is provided to all patients at all time. Your responsibility will cover all aspects of acute patient care. As a Senior member of staff you will be in charge of the shifts and supervise all junior members of staff on the ward and also deputising for the Sisters and Nurse Managers in their absence. Part of your role will involve bed planning and ensuring that you have enough staff on the ward at all times to adequately care for all of the patients on the ward at all times. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. You will also participate in ward rounds and assist medical staff with clinical procedures when required.
To be considered for this role you will have extensive experience of working in a surgical ward across multiple specialties, ideally 3+ years. As part of your daily duties will involve IV, Phlebotomy and Cannulation you will be competent in these areas along with experience in management of TPN, stoma's and VAC's dressings. In this role you will work as part of a team and therefore be expected to be a good team leader and lead by example. Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure is an essential part of the role along with good communication and computer skills.
