Job DescriptionJob Title: Cashier Officer/Accounts Receivable

Reports To:

Sales Administrator Process Manager

Salary:

£24000 - 26000 per annum

Contract Type:

Full Time Permanent + 1 ^ Months fix term Contract

Key Purpose

 To ensure all receipts are posted and allocated accurately within the
Company accounting systems
 To ensure the timely and accurate production of the bank reconciliations.
 Responsibility for banking of all non-electronic receipts to Group bank on
a daily basis.

Key Accountabilities

 Daily download of banking statements.
 Accurate cash posting and allocations from bank statement to
sales/nominal ledger.
 Daily cheque receipted, posted to ledger and lodged with the local bank
branch.
 Process internal (Croydon PDQ terminal/ DataCash) and external credit
card payments (MSI/Bolton/MPI/Abacus) and post appropriately to the
accounting software.
 Ensure the Z and X end of day/week is completed
 Process journal entries as appropriate.
 Manage the subscriptions receipts and process accordingly including
notifying each related specific subscription house as required.
 To refer any unidentified bank payments back to the bank and chase for
a timely response.
 Daily/weekly bank reconciliations to be completed, ensuring all
transactions are recorded accurately and reconciled.
 Liaise with subscriptions house to notify payments and assist in
allocation.
 Escalation of issues to GCM as necessary and appropriate.
 Occasional PDF invoice upload.
 Assisting with the daily master files for uploading to accounts system.
 Responding and providing information, as required, to the Auditors.
 Carry out any other occasional ad hoc duties, as required, to fulfil
departmental needs.
 To ensure that Company processes and policies in relation to revenue
generation and representation in the Company accounts is accurate and
appropriate in all circumstances, referring matters to the Finance
Director, Financial Controller, Group Credit Manager and relevant CEO
Direct Report whenever necessary.
 Adherence to all relevant HMRC and all other regulatory accounting
principles.
 To adhere to Company policies including the Anti-Bribery and Corruption
policy.
 Accurate and timely cash postings.
 Full bank reconciliations completed no later than the first working day
following the month end.
 Minimise journal transfers through accurate cash postings and allocations within the accounting software.
 All role related data filed in one easily accessible departmental shared
location.

Experience

CIMA, ACCA - Part qualified

5 years cashiering/AR experience

IT Experience

 Must be familiar with general computer use including Microsoft word, excel,
PowerPoint and outlook.

Interpersonal Skills:
 Sound judgement with the ability to interpret and analyse multiple
account reconciliations.
 Practical approach to problem solving.
 A pro-active self-starter, maintaining good momentum to achieve set
targets.
 IT, Administrative and Organisational Skills:
 Intermediate level of Excel to work with current and own initiative
spread sheets, to undertake Pivot table, sub totals VLOOKUP-ups
 Good attention to detail with a high accuracy rate.
 The ability to work across multiple systems and multiple bank accounts.
 Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to
work under pressure to tight deadlines, resulting in the prioritising of
daily banking and bank reconciliations.
 Resourceful and purposeful, with initiative, drive and a strong desire to
deliver exceptional results.
 A team player both internally and externally.
Judgement and Analysis:
 Sound judgement with the ability to interpret, analyse and disseminate
complex, sensitive information.
 A strong understanding of business and organisational risk and the ability
to analyse situations and apply judgement on decisions.
