Job Description

FLOORING ESTIMATOR

Based in the south east, this well-established and respected flooring contractor has a substantial quantity of projects to quote for.

The company's principal markets are new build and refurbishment in the Office, Leisure, Retail, Education, Financial and Medical sectors.

The Company has grown organically throughout the past thirty five years, and has dynamic plans for future growth. It aims to capitalise upon the opportunities within the UK economy and continue to increase its market share.

The Director is currently proactive in developing strategies for the future growth of the company, its products and staff.

The Position

As part of the above plans our client is currently seeking to appoint an Estimator. This is an important position to facilitate further growth for the Company. As such the position is a central part of the Company's plans to grow its business and to raise its profile within the marketplace.

You will take full responsibility for the creation and development of accurate and competitive tenders for Main Contractors on major projects.

The role would be based at offices in the northern Home Counties.

Qualifications and experience

Our client is seeking a professional person with experience in flooring estimating. You must have a background in estimating successfully to the main contractor base. Formal qualifications are less important than a practical approach and the ability to get on with people.

You will have a minimum of 2/3 years proven successful estimating experience. You may also be a Quantity Surveyor.

You'll be conversant in Callidus Estimating Software, Spreadsheets, fully understand all aspects of flooring contracting i.e. Broadloom Carpet, Carpet tiles, Vinyl sheet & tiles, Rubber sheet & tiles, decorative timber finishes etc.. You will be expected to attend meetings to negotiate projects up to £5M in value.

Training will be provided, as required, to enable the successful candidate to fit in to this market sector and the company itself.

The candidate's personal attributes will include ambition, drive and enthusiasm. They will be an emotionally mature individual who has a strong, resilient nature and a "streetwise" attitude.

An ability to work closely within a team is important. Other personal characteristics are honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic!
