My client is a global business based in South Birmingham. They work with many leading international companies within a variety of countries to deliver innovative business solutions

The Group has been operating for more than 100 years during which time it has established a strong international reputation for excellence.

Due to expansion they now have an immediate requirement for a Regional Financial Controller to join them on a full time permanent basis

Main Focus and Challenges

This position takes full ownership for the consolidation, management reporting and analysis for the European business.

The position has one direct report, the FP&A Analyst.

Responsibilities

Key leadership role with ownership of the divisions management information, including;

* To lead timely, accurate and regular financial reporting and analysis for management.

* Understand and validate data from across the European business units.

* Monitoring of both financial and operational performance of the business by tracking appropriate key performance indicators.

* Create meaningful reports to facilitate value-adding decisions for management.

* Act as a key point of contact for financial issues between various divisions

* Technical accounting lead to ensure adherence to Group policies

* Value add support to embed new ways of working with the region's new ERP system.

* Value add support for business case preparation for new opportunities and strategic presentations.

* Other duties / projects as may be required.

The Person

Qualifications and Experience

* Qualified Accountant with top percentile academic record.

* Ability to analyse data and identify trends, ensuring data quality is high, is essential.

* Ability to produce under pressure, to a high degree of accuracy, with absolute attention to detail in this fast paced environment.

* Excellent working knowledge of financial practices and IFRS

* Effective communication skills, interacting with stakeholders inside and outside of Europe.

* Ability to manage multiple demanding priorities and deadlines is essential.

* Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of data manipulation and analysis within a multi-site organisation. Ideally experience with Cognos Controller or similar consolidation applications.
