Our client, a major manufacturer based in Shoreham-By-Sea with a globally recognised brand, has just made available an initial on-going contract opportunity for a Buyer / Contracts Co-Ordinator to join their team (with the possibility of going permanent). The salary on offer is up to £40,000 (dependant on experience) plus an excellent benefits package.

Key Responsibilities of the Buyer / Contracts Co-Ordinator
• Look for cost saving opportunities by consolidating purchasing and putting in supply contracts or long-term orders with call offs
• Optimise supply chain to eliminate excessive costs
• Manage suppliers in terms of visits, audits, high level communications (not chasing specific orders as such, but more about managing relationships)
• Manage service contracts such as the electric, gas etc. and ensure we are on best terms and not subject to auto renewals etc.
• Work within and optimise our purchasing quality procedure, assisting with internal audits to ensure we are following the correct processes.
• Negotiations on price and supply contracts
• Analysis of usage data
• Optimisation of purchasing in terms of cost saving opportunities
• Technical/manufacturing background preferred with an understanding of BOMS and engineering drawings
• Act as a change driver in terms of current buying practices
• Ability to source parts/raw materials to meet production lead times
• Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• Willingness to travel to meet suppliers
