Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Engineer
A leading organisation that specialises in the design and development for the next generation of Aerospace engines. They have recently started a ground-breaking innovative project and as a result of this, they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer, on a contract basis, to design and specify work for high performance processing systems for high performance engines for this brand new project.

THE SALARY/RATE/PACKAGE/BENEFITS

The Mechanical Engineer will receive:
• Competitive hourly rates
• 18 month contract
• Based in Oxford

THE CANDIDATE
Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer will require the following:
Essential Skills / Qualifications
• Degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering related qualification
• Experience working within a test facility / plant environment
• 3D CAD experience (any package ok although SolidWorks preferred)
• Ability to carry out hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications
• FE (Finite Element) or (CFD) Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis experience
• Knowledge of or experience with material properties at both extreme heat and cryogenic temperatures
• Project and contract management experience
• Awareness of ATEX standards or possibly cryogenic experience as an alternative
• Experience of working within an experimental R&D design team

THE ROLE
Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Engineer
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join an exciting new venture and hit the ground running. We are also looking for a team player who has a positive approach to work and can focus when completing a variety of responsibilities.

Day to day tasks will include, but are not limited to:
• Design and advise on the Mechanical specifications and requirements, working at pressures of several hundred bar
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers
• All work will be carried out on a variety of different systems within a hazardous working environment (ATEX site)
