The School - SEN Teaching Assistant
This is a fantastic SEN school that I have the pleasure of working closely with. They are a warm, welcoming, inclusive day and residential school that caters for 7-19 year old students with a wide range of special educational needs. Students have a range of educational and/or medical diagnoses. They offer an effectively holistic approach to learning by integrating a range of creative therapies to help students who need their specialised input. It also has particular strengths in meeting speech language and communication needs allied to moderate to severe learning difficulties and autistic traits.

This school has consistently high standards which is reflected in their Ofsted report. The school is situated within a beautiful listed building with excellent grounds and conveniently based a 10-minute walk from the station, just off of the M25 and also accessible via several bus links. They have a brilliant team who can provide excellent training and support, regardless of whether you are employed on a temporary or permanent basis.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant
They are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience within the SEN sector, who can work to inspire and achieve! Experience with PMLD students would be highly desirable and training within Hoisting and Manual Handling is essential. The ideal candidate will have worked in a school with Mild to Moderate Learning Difficulties, that has a desire to work with a more complex needs SEN school. The role would be working 1:1 or in small groups with students of mixed abilities.

The role would require someone to be comfortable dealing with personal care, including toileting and feeding and also with restraining students. As an SEN Teaching Assistant you would be supporting the emotional, social and academic development of the students you work with to ensure they reach their full potential!
