Polkadotfrog are recruiting a UX Designer for a knowledge company in Cambridge.

This is a new role in the company and offers an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to influence and shape the company’s UX development journey.

The successful candidate will act as a user advocate throughout a product development cycle, ensuring that product and user experience design is guided by evidence. They will be expected to:

• drive a cycle of UX development and improvement determined and validated through research
• undertake user research, progressive enhancement, web standards, front-end performance and accessibility

Working closely across all areas of the business, in particular product, development, R&D and professional services. As part of this process you will be meeting directly with end users, as well as performing user testing and conducting market research.

Other responsibilities:

• providing users with the correct tools at each stage of a knowledge delivery cycle to quick and easy access to required knowledge
• making processes as simple as possible
• designing and maintaining the best possible UX across the company’s products, working with users, developers, testers and stakeholders throughout discovery, design, implementation and release of new features and improvements.
• produce research findings, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, working iteratively across teams to ensure that user interface designs are grounded in user needs, validated through user testing and guided by technical constraints and business requirements.
• devise, explore and participate in initiatives that help to improve product strategy, implementations and overall quality.

Skills
Required
• University degree, college degree, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with user research (one-on-one interviews, prototype testing)
• Experience developing prototypes to aid user testing
• Knowledge of web usability
• Knowledge of web standards/accessibility

Desirable
• HTML/CSS/JS
• Web technologies (specifically components, jQuery, CSS, CSS preprocessors, Redux, Webpack)
