Job Title: Graduate / Geo-Environmental Consultant

Location: Glastonbury

Salary: £21K - £26K

Job description

My client is an established consultancy with a strong track record who are seeking a graduate geo-environmental consultants to join the busy team at its head office in Somerset. They are a team of specialists providing consultancy services across the UK in contaminated land assessment and remediation, ground engineering, environmental monitoring and waste management.

Key Duties:

1. Phase I Geo-Environmental & Geotechnical Assessments

2. Undertaking of desk based research including site reconnaissance surveys

3. Preparing reports under supervision of senior team members

4. Phase II Geo-Environmental & Geotechnical Assessments including;

5. An initial supporting role in site investigation progressing to carrying out investigations independently

6. On-site monitoring of gas, groundwater and surface water

7. Data input, management and interpretation

8. Factual and interpretative report writing

Required Skills & Experience:

1. IT packages including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.

2. Ability to accurately input data into software programs.

3. Well organised and be able to prioritise own workload with minimal supervision.

4. Ability to accurately measure and record environmental data.

5. Numerically competent.

6. Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

7. Competent and efficient report writing skills.

8. Team player.

9. Flexible attitude to time management, travelling, office based and site works

10. A degree in the following or associated science/engineering disciplines is required: Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geoscience, Applied Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.

11. A post-graduate qualification would be advantageous, although not essential.

12. Experience and proficiency in using AutoCAD packages would be advantageous.

13. A good understanding of UK legislation.

14. Full clean UK driving licence.
