Site Engineer (Fit Out) – Farringdon Station

A project valued at £200 million which covers the excavation, tunnelling, structure, station, and finishing work and mechanical and electrical installations of the Farringdon station in London. This work is for the Crossrail Project, the London rail network, which is the largest civil engineering project in Europe.

The biggest challenge has come up when working in a densely populated city, immersed in 1,000 years of history and at 40 meters depth.

When Crossrail begins operating it will increase London’s rail transport capacity by 10%, permitting regeneration of the capital city, helping to secure London’s position as a global financial centre and shortening travel times in the city.

The Site Engineer role would suit a post Civil Engineering Graduate with some previous work experience in Fit-Out on a large infrastructure project for a main contractor.

Responsibilities:

Report to the Construction / Site Manager as required in cost and progress.

To manage and supervise site works and generation of appropriate records.

Advise Construction Manager of any potential risk, commercial or contractual liabilities

Manage the ordering process and supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of required materials.

Liaise with sub-contractors and attend progress meetings (DABs).

Keep site diaries and RAMS.

Issue various permits, i.e. hot works, permits to dig etc.

Setting-Out and Checking Works.

Manage subcontractors to ensure delivery of the required service and to comply with company policies.

Support Project Team in the implementation of H&S plan, Environmental plan and Quality Plan.

Promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, subcontractors and other external contacts.

Should you meet the above criteria, please forward a covering letter and your most up to date CV
