We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Author, to join our New Product Development team based in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to work within the detail design team assisting the other members of the team in producing technical documents supplied with our products.

In order to excel in this role the successful candidate will demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and have a structured approach to planning and managing their workload. A ‘hands-on’ approach, flexibility and being receptive to other views are also essential.

We welcome applications from experienced technical writers, who are looking for a new challenge within a specialist industry, or recent language graduates who are looking to get started with a great employer.

A good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial, ideally with experience of working with translations. A thorough understanding of English grammar and a good vocabulary are essential.

You’ll have the opportunity to take responsibility for:

·Providing clear and concise communication of technical information in the form of User Guides, Instructions for Use and Clinician’s Manuals

·Maintaining issue controlled documents in accordance with the Medical Device Directive

·Maintaining a corporate image in all publications giving for consistency of presentation.

·Working with external suppliers such as translators and proof readers in our various global markets

·Supporting other areas of the business with providing written technical content and graphics

The nature of the role is results driven so the successful candidate will maintain high standards when working to varying deadlines. This is a permanent position and the core working hours are 36.5 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday.
