Production Manager/ Operations Business Support

£Salary negotiable plus benefits

Our client is a small manufacturing company based in Saint Ives, Cambridgeshire.

The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the manufacturing department functions, scheduling, purchasing, logistics, stores. Management of the manufacturing team in all aspects of the electronics manufacture of PCB's and testing of instrumentation electronics. The role will require supplier/customer interface and technical support and direction in all aspects of manufacturing, quality and factory facilities on site. Supporting the Operations/General Manager in providing technical and pricing information for electronics components for quotation support.

The Production Manager will ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

Degree or HNC in electronic engineering, physics, computer science or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years people management experience with the ability to lead / motivate a team.
Procurement experience in electronics components and PCB's.
Ability to read Gerber Data, BOM and manufacturing data.
PC experience user of Excel/ Word/ Reports/ Charts
Scheduling experience in sub contract manufacture of PCB SMT, conventional soldering.
Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of key metrics management and execution.
Must have expertise in Quality management systems, quality audits & standards.

Computer skills and knowledge/experience of commercial/sales pricing, stock, MRP software packages such as SAP Business One, Sage or other.
Knowledge of intrinsically safe ATEX products and other standards would be advantageous.

The Production Manager will be used to working with a small team and able to set realistic targets and communicate at all levels. Lead by example with a hands on approach and be self motivated.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm Friday 8:30am-2pm
