CAE Technical Manager. Automotive product development. State of the art engineering / manufacturing facility. R&D is central to the company’s success.

Role would suit a Technical Manager, Team Leader or Engineering Manager with a broad mechanical engineering background to lead a team of CAE, FEA, CFD Engineers seeking jobs in the automotive sector.

Salary Guideline: Competitive salary, annual bonus, 24 days holiday (increases to 29 days over time) + bank holidays, company pension, life assurance, Christmas shutdown.

This CAE Technical Manager job will suit:
• A Mechanical Engineer with a CAE engineering background – this could be biased in any of the following areas; FEA; CFD; NVH; but ideally a little knowledge across all areas would be beneficial.
• Previous experience of leading and managing a team of Engineers is preferred.
• Any exposure to automotive / vehicle technology, systems, component development in the areas of engines, powertrain, combustion systems, fuel systems, exhaust systems would be beneficial but not absolutely essential.
• You are likely to be degree qualified in a mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar engineering or science based discipline.

The job will involve:
• A key engineering role to lead a team of CAE Engineers (FEA, CFD, NVH) undertaking engineering analysis and testing on complex systems, driving changes and improvements in product design that results in better products.
• Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, supporting product development and research programmes from initial concept and project definition, through to completion and into production.
• Deliver feedback to the design engineering team that helps drive continuous improvements within the product development process.
• Support the development of new engineering methods and approaches to implement best practice.
